"Marks of a Minds I"
2022
A performance project
In Marks of a Mind I, Jo spent fixed periods inside a tufted mask, exploring how obscured senses can turn attention inward and reveal how thought and gesture leave traces in the world. She developed this idea by using a wheeled frame made from a van windscreen for 360° audience access, she investigated dramaturgy as an iterative, ecological, and process-led practice. The work also became a way of understanding and conversing with an object - exploring a form of communication grounded in sensory exchange.
